SBCA Research Program

The SBCA established in 2002 a Donor Advised Fund with AKC’s Canine Health Foundation. CHF sends research proposals to expert reviewers for their evaluations and then forwards a select few of these grant requests to the SBCA. We then determine which of these deserving grants we will support. Because of our successful fund-raising campaign we are now able to support four research areas. These include genetic markers for seizures in Saints, cartilage degeneration in arthritis often associated with hip dysplasia, stimulation of the immune system to fight bone cancer, and a study of blood vessel formation in healing wounds and resolving inflammations and tumor growth.

Your board encourages on-going support of this fund with your tax deductible contributions. All of your money goes to research (none to CHF’s administrative costs) thereby benefiting Saints and other breeds supporting the same research proposals. Make your checks to “CHF – St. Bernard Donor Advised Fund” and mail them to our Treasurer who will forward them to CHF. Mail to:
